Delete your account

Version 2026-09-23

Sahi Setu is a brand of Next Gen Payment Wallet India Private Limited. How to delete your Sahi Setu account and the data that goes with it, what we keep afterwards and why, and for how long.

In the app

Open Sahi Setu and go to Profile, then Your data, then Close my account. The screen says what will be deleted and what is kept, and asks you to confirm.

Without the app

If you cannot use the app — you no longer have the phone, or the app will not open — open https://api.sahisetu.com/account/delete in any browser. Enter the mobile number your account uses and the code we send to it by SMS; the page then says what will be deleted and what is kept, and asks you to confirm.

The code makes sure the request comes from the person the account belongs to, so nobody else can delete your account. The account is then deleted in exactly the same way as from the app, and the page shows the date it will be done. If you no longer have that mobile number, or have any other question about your data, write to our grievance officer, Sukant, at grievance@sahisetu.com.

When it happens

Nothing is deleted for 7 days. Your account works as before for that week, and you can keep it by tapping Keep my account under Your data; signing in does not cancel the request. When the week is up, everything listed below is deleted permanently that night, with the files behind it.

A plan that is still running ends when the account is deleted and is not refunded. The app says so before you confirm.

What is deleted

Your profile (name, mobile number, email address, date of birth, state and language); your documents and photographs; your evidence and its certificates; your vehicles and driving licence; the record of registry lookups; your MSME applications; your drafting and explain requests and their translations; your fraud cases, consultations and messages; your support chats and callback requests; your plan, what you used of it, your wallet and your call history; your household; your notifications; and the phones signed in to your account with their notification tokens.

The database keeps automatic backups for 7 days, so a deleted account is gone from those 7 days after it is deleted. Error reports sent to Sentry carry no personal data and are deleted automatically within 90 days.

What is kept, and why

That a payment was made: the amount, the payment provider and its reference, whether it went through, the plan it was for and the date. Company and tax law require these records for eight financial years (Companies Act 2013 section 128, the CGST Act 2017 section 36, and the Income-tax Act 1961). They no longer name you.

Which version of the terms and of the privacy notice you accepted, in which language, and when you withdrew your consent. The law puts it on us to show that consent was given, so this is kept; it no longer names you.

A record that the deletion was asked for and carried out: the dates, and how many records of each kind were deleted (numbers only, nothing from them). It is the evidence that your data was erased, and it names nobody.

Money left in your wallet

A wallet balance is your money. If some is left when the account is deleted, write to support@sahisetu.com before the deletion completes or within 30 days after it, and we return it the way it was paid.
